What to do with $7 of Redistributed Wealth...?

I went to ifasict.gov, er, irs.gov, and calculated my "stimulus" check amount.

My main curiosity is - would they give me more than I actually paid in.  Sure enough, my "stimulus" check is a total of $7 more than I paid in.  Yippie!!  The government thinks I'm poor!!

I find myself in a curious situation.  I've always said if/when I got to the point where I was getting back more than I paid in, that I would refuse the money.  Now, of course, there are a million other taxes, fees, and regulatory expenses that come with living in a fascist country - but I'm talking specifically about Federal income tax.  (In other words, I've spent thousands on all of the other taxes, fees, inflation, etc.)

So - please leave your comments:  I need help to know what to do with my $7 of redistributed wealth?

Some ideas could be - 'Donate it to Ron Paul', or 'Find a rich person and give it to them', or 'Write a personal check to President Bush politely declining this blatant act of Marxism'.

Give it some thought - and let me know!

Donate to the Providence Church Building Program! We need the seed money!

I vote keep it and consider it an act of Providence using a corrupt system to aid one of His covenant families (sorta like how Roman law actually encouraged and supported Christians to have large families by giving them tax breaks according to how many children they had. Given time the ungodly Romans would be minoritized demographically by promoting the large Christian families who possess a completely reversed worldview and would end up bringing about a reform totally contrary to the Roman way of life.)

In this case I would think of it that way. However I could easily articulate the opposite argument that says we must not promote fiscal foolishness by accepting this "free money".

Flip a coin. :)

I like the idea of giving it to the church too!

I'm not as lucky as you, I still paid $684. Oh well.

I like the idea of sending it to a "rich person". My suggestion would be Rush - when they came out with this "stimulus plan" Rush made a good point. He said, "you would think that the government would have the decency to at least put on the checks - 'given by Rush Limbaugh (or insert your wealthy person's name)'. But no, the government acts as though the money is coming from THEM!".

So he might get a kick out of it if you sent it back to him, since technically its his, or someone else's. :)

Is that $7 more than your federal withholding? Or the total of Fed WH + FICA?

I've had the same line as you, with the exception that since I don't plan on every collecting FICA that as long as I've not gotten back more than the total I've paid the feds it's OK. Also, don't forget the lost wages in employer FICA that has been taken by them.

Plus, you've probably already had over $7 in withholding this year. :)

What Would Gideon Do?

I think he'd use the money to accumulate weaponry for overthrowing the Midianites.
